Like Pervasive Depravity, the doctrine of Prevailing Grace (aka Irresistible/Effectual Grace), is where the rubber meets the road concerning monergistic salvation. Is saving grace truly irresistible? What did Calvinists at this Synod believe about the effectual work of grace upon the will? Is grace draw us into the kingdom "kicking and screaming" against our will, or does the sinner turn to Christ freely?
