Ep# 445 // Examining Open Theism
Tuesday Aug 25, 2020
Tuesday Aug 25, 2020
Open Theism enters the sovereignty/free will debate, which challenges both the Arminian and Calvinistic/Augustine tradition. They claim to solve the theodicy question by claiming God does not know the future free actions of humans. However, does Open Theism answer theodicy (the problem of evil), and at what cost? The guys at G220 Radio unpack Open Theism and explain their beliefs. They will introduce their foundational prepositions of Libertarian Free Will, Process Theology, and the rejection of Greek Philosophy. Apprehend how Open Theism reinterprets God's nature, and destroys arguments for a high view of Scripture. Discover their view of presentism, and how they understand predictive prophecy.

Ep# 444 // How the Nicene Creed shapes our Theology Proper
Thursday Aug 20, 2020
Thursday Aug 20, 2020
We will talk about the history and importance of the creed, as well as highlight portions of the creed, such as why the word catholic better captures the intended purpose over the term universal and more.
Nicene Creed:
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made. Who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the living and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end. And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of life; who proceedeth from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets. And we believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen!

Thursday Aug 13, 2020
Thursday Aug 13, 2020
Gregory of Nazianzus stood for Nicene Orthodoxy when the fight was the strongest. This Church Father devoted his life to defend not only the Doctrine of the Trinity against Arianism. He also stood against modalism and Christological heresies. Gregory was also called "the Theologian" for his great oracles on the Trinity which survive today. While serving as the Bishop of Constantinople, Arians tried to assassinate him.

Ep# 442 // Change how you pray, Use God's Words!
Thursday Aug 06, 2020
Thursday Aug 06, 2020
Are you tired of praying the same words over again? Do you use Father, Lord, or another phrase repeatedly? Have you considered prayer the same words that God gives you? This week, Mike Miller and Natty P explore praying the Bible. Not original with either of them, praying the Bible adds a dimension to one's prayer life. In Matthew 6:9-13, we have a model prayer and structure. Yet Psalms drives are emotions to petition the grace of God. In this episode, we will focus on how to pray the Bible using Psalms, narratives, and epistles.

Ep# 441 // What do these stones mean?: A Theology of Memorials
Thursday Jul 30, 2020
Thursday Jul 30, 2020
The Original Natty P and Mike Miller reflect on monuments that God told the Israelites to build. We read in Scripture, like in Joshua 4, how God commanded the people to make monuments by stack stones. These monuments were teaching moments so the story of God's work would not be forgotten. Festivals also were used to recall God's saving acts. In the New Testament, the Lord's Supper directs us to consider God's salvation through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

Ep# 436 // I Don't Think It Means What You Think It Means!
Thursday Jun 25, 2020
Thursday Jun 25, 2020
Have you ever been in a conversation with someone and they use a word to describe something and with a puzzled look and in your Inigo Montoya voice from the movie the Princess Bride you say, "You keep using that word, I don't think it means what you think it means." This seems to be the case with many words these days. For example, Tolerance often used by some to mean something other than what it actually means. We could go on and on with many words and on this episode of G220 Radio, we will do just that as we go through a list of ten words or so that is often misused and don't really mean what is implied by the one using it.
